We are very excited to have these internationally recognized leaders in the field of in-vehicle systems and safety as keynote speakers for our meeting.

REVIEW PROCESS AND NEW BOOK

Workshop has an inaugural culture and the submitted papers are reviewed in a general approach for coherence. However, the selected papers will be going through a peer-review process before appearing in the book series from the workshops.

4TH BIENNIAL WORKSHOP ON DSP FOR IN VEHICLE SYSTEMS AND SAFETY

4th Biennial Workshop on DSP for In-Vehicle Systems and Safety will be held in Dallas, USA during 25-27th June 2009. The workshop series presents a unique opportunity for the researchers working on different branches of in-vehicle signal processing to exchange and discuss their cutting edge results. It also forms a communication platform between researchers, automotive manufacturers, government foundations for road safety and future in-vehicle technologies.
The workshop will feature world-class experts on road safety, in-vehicle tech demos and state-of-the-art systems as well as cutting edge research in the field. The interdisciplinary nature of the field has been recognized including disciplines such as :

-signal processing
-control engineering
-audio/video processing
-bio-mechanics
-ergonomics
-human factors engineering
-transportation/civil engineering

UTDRIVE

UTDrive is part of three-year NEDO-supported international collaboration between Japan, Italy, Singapore, Turkey, and USA.

It contains a multi-sensor platform in vehicle test-bed. Under real-traffic conditions driver's speech, videos (driver and road scene), CAN-Bus and several bio-signals are collected. This project is an open and versatile platform to address basic research on expanding the understanding of human driver behavior as well as serving as a mechatronics on-board laboratory for developing novel in-vehicle systems. Outputs and contributions of the project ranges from developing new metrics to assess driver performance to design and development of brand-new driver assistance/ active safety systems.
